Top 10 breathtaking pictures of 2016 Supermoon you need to see

As on November, 14 the Moon approached the Earth the closest it ever did since 1948 and stroke every person on the planet who managed to see it with its beauty, astronomers, ordinary people and professional photographers rushed outside to capture their best picture of this year’s Supermoon. This natural phenomenon is quite rare in the human’s lifetime perspective, as the next time we’ll be able to observe our Moon this close to the planet is going to be in 17 years.

The scientific explanation of the jaw-dropping skyline some of us were lucky to witness isn’t that complicated. It happens when our planet’s only natural satellite enters the full moon cycle while moving on the irregular egg-shaped orbit around the Earth and approaches it the closest it can. Obviously, this alignment of the cosmic bodies influences the natural processes on our planet, as well as changes the Moon’s appearance on the skyline, causing the worldwide excitement.

Thus, the closer position of the Moon in relation to our planet is the actual reason it’s called ‘Super’. Is it? As most experts prove, the size differences aren’t particularly visible to the human’s eye unless an experienced observer or a person with special equipment is involved. But, it’s the exceptional brightness of the Moon that makes it so phenomenal and forces photographers and social media enthusiasts hunt for the best picture of the event possible. Some of the views look incredible, sometimes even supernatural and futuristic, thus the Moon was really worth staying up late that night.

These are a few of the most breath-taking photographs of the people who managed to capture the Supermoon in some of the most incredible surroundings.
