Artist Turns Her 3-Year-Old Daughter’s Doodles Into Beautiful Paintings
Kids don’t know much, which makes them uninhibited in their artistic pursuits. Ruth Oosterman capitalizes on that by finishing her three-year-old daughter’s doodles into paintings. She started the collaboration when Eve was but two. The little girl makes some doodles and sketches on paper, and the mom fills it in with colors, letting her imagination run wild. The paintings are sold on their Etsy store!
“I try to work quickly and let imagination and play take root into the painting rather than taking it to seriously, this way I can encourage Eve’s contribution without making it too ‘grownup,’” Oosterman wrote on Bored Panda. “As Pablo Picasso said, it can take ‘but a lifetime to paint like a child.’ I feel so blessed that my daughter can remind me once again what it is to paint like a child by letting me see through her eyes.” You can see the previous post (and check if Eve improved) here.
