Teen Learns That His Prom Date Can’t Afford Her Dream Gown, Ends Up Making One For Her
When it comes to prom, everyone wants to look their best – and that can get quite expensive. Your perfect dress or tuxedo might end up costing hundreds or even thousands of dollars and that’s not something everyone can afford. So what do you do when your wishes exceed your finances? You get creative.
A Pendleton Heights student named Parker Smith had found out that his best friend and prom date Adrianna Rust couldn’t afford her dream prom dress. That’s when he decided to do something completely unexpected – he made a dress for Addi completely from scratch.

Parker Smith found out that his best friend and prom date Adrianna Rust couldn’t afford her dream prom dress
The girl began searching for the perfect dress all the way back in February and quickly realized how expensive they are. She joked around that Parker should make her one but didn’t take this idea too seriously.
So he made her one from scratch!
The dress turned out absolutely amazing and Adrianna loved it
Parker, however, did. The man hadn’t done anything similar before in his life but boldly took on the challenge.
Parker’s date ended up looking like a real-life Cinderella
In fact, both of them looked like Disney characters!
Parker made a sketch of how the end result should look like and got to work learning how to sew. He got a lot of help from his grandmother who helped him redo some parts to ensure a perfect fit. “I’m such a perfectionist that I was up adding more stones to the dress even the night before prom,” said the man.
The man began by creating a sketch of the dress
He then proceeded to make the dress with the help of his grandmother
“Quite a journey, but the first thing I’ve ever sewn (a prom dress) has been finished, just in time for the ball! Not only did I get the honor of being the Prince Charming to the beautiful @AddiRust, but her fairy godmother as well, haha! I’m so thankful for her. (From scratch),” said Parker in a tweet.
Some people even suggested Parker create more dresses
