Photographer Titus Poplawski Captures Eerie Analog Photos Of People (20 Pics)
Some photographers love to say that film is dead, and solemnly swear by digital cameras. However, the reality is that there are still photographers out there who strictly create their art using analog cameras – and Polish photographer Titus Poplawski is one excellent example.
The photographer in question uses an analog camera to capture eerie and unsettling portraits of people, and his works are truly magical. In a recent interview with Bored Panda, Titus said that working with film gives him more satisfaction from his work. “It’s not about the advanced technical challenges. It’s more about letting the film influence the final artistic result of the picture,” explained the photographer. “I focus on narrative photography, which is a metaphor that tells about human beings. Thus a human being is the main subject of my photos”

The photographer says that his inspiration is the broadly understood world of art. “Throughout our lives, we absorb the world and art around us and this is the main source of inspiration. In my works, I show attention to detail and light,” said Titus.

Titus says that for him, photography is not just a passion – it’s an addiction. “I like photos! I want to do them because they allow me to describe the world and answer ‘any’ questions,” said the photographer.

The photographer also went on to explain some of his creative choices. “I like people, and they are indeed the main subject of the photos. However, I do not want to show them as we see them in real life, but to show their relationship with the world,” explained Titus. “That is, I want to show them as they are inside. From this desire to show the human soul, let’s call it, my photos are unreal and often seem dark.”
Titus believes that the photo should convey something and lead to thinking, and even though he’s not sure whether that’s his style, that’s what he’s aiming for.
