This Subway Station In NYC Installs Beautiful Mosaics Of Dogs After Renovation
Taking the subway to work every morning is no fun – staring at the train tracks and blank walls while waiting for your train can get bleak fast. That’s why the MTA Arts & Design program decided to liven up the newly renovated 23rd Street F/M subway station in New York City with some beautiful mosaic murals.
The author of the murals is William Wegman – an American artist, well known for his beautiful portraits of his pet Weimaraners. The artist photographed the dogs and the highly detailed mosaics were made by German artist Mayer of Munich. “I wanted to create portraits of individual characters, people who you might see next to you on the platform,” said William.
We’re sure these mosaics will make the commuters’ trips a little bit brighter! Check them out in the gallery below.
