This Artist Reimagined 13 Popular Sodas As Cartoon Characters
We all know sodas are not good for us but they’re a little guilty pleasure we let ourselves enjoy from time to time. But here’s a question for you: when sipping your favorite soda on a hot summer day, have you ever wondered what the drink in your hand would look like as cartoon characters? As weird as this question sounds, one artist apparently has – and even created a whole series!
Sillvi is a Korean-born artist based in Canada who took on this challenge and reimagined how some popular sodas would look like as cartoon characters.

In an interview with Bored Panda, the artist said he has been experimenting with various themes that encourage engagement on social media: “I came to the conclusion that people react better to things that they are already familiar with, for example, pre-existing characters, logos, and so on.” That inspired Sillvi to put his own twist on the famous soft drink brands and make them even more unique.

When developing the characters, Sillvi mostly focused on the aesthetics of the logo and the taste of the soda. “I also drank a few of them before drawing their characters,” joked the artist. Each illustration took the author about two hours to complete and he says he spent about 28 hours on the project.

When asked about the characters, Sillvi says he likes the Barq’s Root Beer character the most: “I would definitely want to be friends with that guy.”
