89-Year-Old Japanese Grandma Takes Up Photography, Can’t Stop Making Hilarious Portraits Of Herself

Published 7 years ago

It’s never too late to learn something new and Kimiko Nishimoto, an 89-year-old woman from Japan is here to prove it.

She discovered photography kind of accidentally when she decided to enroll in a beginner’s course taught by her son. From then on the woman couldn’t put her camera down, always photographing and editing self-portraits that people found hilarious. Who knew that 10 years later she was going to have enough material to hold a solo exhibition at the local gallery!

Now the artist is taking an even bigger step forward. She together with her son will be presenting her exhibition titled “Asobokane” (“let’s play”) in Tokyo, at the Epson Imaging Gallery Epsite.

If you can’t make it to Tokyo ’till then, check out the pictures of the funny and adorable grandma below.
