This Dad Started Making Jewelry From Scrap Metal Just A Year Ago And He’s Too Good At It
A lot of art has been made from garbage to make a point, but how about actually making beautiful stuff? Well, when he lost his job about a year ago, Carolina Breeze’s newly unemployed dad presented her with a beautiful piece of recycled jewelry and they’ve never looked back. Starting with a pendant made from an old radio and beads, they have been designing beautiful pendants, earrings and bracelets ever since. They claim various influences such as mythology, Celtic and Indian tribal styles, and so on. The results are marvelous and beautiful to behold.
‘About a year ago, my father (45) came to me and showed me a piece of jewelry he made out of scrap metal. The jewelry junkie inside me felt like my world had just turned upside down. My father had never made jewelry before, and there it was, simple yet perfect and annoyingly beautiful.’ Carolina wrote on Bored Panda, shamelessly plugging her Renaissance man of a dad.‘My father is a real modern polymath: he draws beautifully with both hands, carves sculptures out of wood, used to be a tattoo artist for a while and now, he makes beautiful jewelry.’
Can’t really argue with that: a lifetime of art has really done him good. After all, not all jewelry looks both fashionable and fitting for Dungeons and Dragons.
