Ruby Silvious Draws Intricate Paintings On Tea Bags For 363 Days of Tea Project

Published 4 hours ago

Following in the steps of her favourite quote by Andy Wohl, “You need to let the little things that would ordinarily bore you suddenly thrill you”, Ruby Silvious finds a little bit of magic in an everyday object commonly found in most households that we carelessly throw out, without a second thought until this moment.

In Silvious’ 363 Days of Tea project, she upcycles empty tea bags and transforms them into miniature canvases on which she creates amazingly detailed art depictions. Her beautiful illustrations in ink and watercolour include tributes, charming scenery, odes to different cultures and more. These vibrantly beautiful drawings may be compact and petite, but her impact is powerful regardless. Inspired by her travels, daily surroundings and diverse activities, Silvious shows an impressive ability to bring these alternative canvases to life.

Shanilou Perera

Shanilou has always loved reading and learning about the world we live in. While she enjoys fictional books and stories just as much, since childhood she was especially fascinated by encyclopaedias and strangely enough, self-help books. As a kid, she spent most of her time consuming as much knowledge as she could get her hands on and could always be found at the library. Now, she still enjoys finding out about all the amazing things that surround us in our day-to-day lives and is blessed to be able to write about them to share with the whole world as a profession.

Got wisdom to pour?
