Rare Snowstorm Covers Rome With White Blanket And The Photos Are Amazing

Published 7 years ago

It has been six years since Rome has seen snow and this year it came with a bang!

On Monday morning due to a freezing Siberian wind called “The beast from the East”  the temperature has fallen to 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 degrees Celsius) and all schools were closed.  Although it looks pretty in the pictures this sudden change of weather caused a total chaos on roads and in public transport. Authorities had to open several train stations as a shelter for the homeless. This is the second time in 50 years that Rome has seen snow, before this, there has been a snowstorm in Rome in 2012.

After the snow covered the city and its beautiful architecture people came to the streets to document this unusual weather. Check these beautiful pictures below!
