Hundreds Of Plastic Bottle Caps Turned Into Stunning Images By Mary Ellen Croteau

Published 10 years ago

American artist Mary Ellen Croteau assembles realistic images using only the caps of used plastic bottles. She uses the caps’ original colors to create realistic shading and hues in her images.

In her artist’s statement, Croteau writes: “I firmly believe in the power of the visual, and my work is my voice: a social critique and a visual challenge to all the cultural detritus we are force-fed every day.

Croteau’s work highlights one of the most challenging global issues of the day– pollution – and, like many other contemporary artists, draws our attention to alternative uses of recyclable materials.
