"Pimped" Vintage Vinyl Covers To Create a New Contemporary Story

Published 9 years ago

I am Naomi, an Italian artist based in London. I work on vintage and found images creating handmade collages. I consider myself as a “photo and video archival parasite”, but with no bad intentions. I draw portals on old photos, postcards and vinyl covers, because they allow me to travel in time and space. Each work is composed of three elements: my life background, my inspirations and subconscious, that is also the glue that puts all together.

About my vinyl cover collages

I always loved to work on bigger pictures, but unfortunately it’s really hard to find big vintage photos. A while ago I finally found a solution to this problem: I went to some charity and thrift shops around my city to look for some inspiration, and I discovered the vintage LP covers. I totally fell in love with these objects, so I brought some of them home to see what I could do. Since that day I created collages on LP covers, and I hope that they will continue to bring me a lot of good suggestions.
