From Age 15 To Age 90, See The Evolution Of Picasso Self Portraits
Pablo Picasso spent a lot of time painting, that’s for sure, and art followed him his entire life. However, nothing remains unchanged by the music of creation. And so if you compare, say, Picasso’s earliest self-portrait and the last one, they’ll be extremely different. An evolution or style, or an artist adapting to the situation? You decide!
“The different styles I have been using in my art must not be seen as an evolution, or as steps towards an unknown ideal of painting…” Picasso commented on the phenomenon. “Different themes inevitably require different methods of expression. This does not imply either evolution or progress; it is a matter of following the idea one wants to express and the way in which one wants to express it.”
