Incredibly Complicated Musical Instrument That Runs On 2,000 Marbles

Published 9 years ago

You thought playing guitar was hard? Then meet Martin Molin, 33 year-old lead musician of Swedish band Wintergatan, who has invented a new instrument of mind-blowing complexity. He calls it Wintergatan’s Marble Machine.

This otherworldly musical instrument is completely analog. It’s powered by a manually-operated hand crank and the sound is produced by 2 000 metal marbles that pass through the instrument.

Unfortunately the machine that took two years to build is going to be dismantled soon. However, the artist promises he’s going to be making a small version of the Marble Machine for live performances. And we have our fingers crossed that he keeps the promise!
