The Majestic Power Of Ocean Waves Captured by Warren Keelan
Waves! The majestic mountains of water attract many an artist, and photographers are no strangers them, either. Here we see Warren Keelan doing his best to capture the ephemeral beauty of the crashing crests. The waves are magnificent, often demonstrating a vibrant turquoise hue. Of course , the real effort is closing in with the wave and snapping the picture at the right time.
And while Keelan has only been doing it for 4 years, he already has a keen eye for the waves. A native of the Australian coast, he has had plenty of opportunities to observe and study the waters. Now, he takes these gorgeous shots for us landlubbers. On the more technical side, he has tried out a 15mm Fisheye lens and a hand-held waterproof flash system in an effort to get even more stunning pictures.

The ocean is an ever changing environment, but over the years I have learnt what to look for and when.
Contours
I search out key elements such as crystal clear water, clean offshore waves, heavy reef breaks and crazy ocean light, but mostly I look for interesting or intriguing perspective.
Sea Hawk
I am very new to the world of ocean and wave photography, but after spending almost every day in the ocean with my camera I have been able to learn quickly how important light is and how to use it to create images.
Kryptonite
I work hard to make photographs that hopefully tell a story and leave an impression or feeling on the viewer. If it does, then I feel I have achieved something special.
Pastel Sunset
I really love what I do. Being able to create images and share what I see with others is a real privilege which I hope to be able to do for as long as I can.
Sea Dragon
After many years spent as a touring musician, turned web developer and photojournalist, I have settled on a creative outlet which turns the cogs in my mind.
Lucent Arc
I guess you could say it’s a healthy addiction, one that provokes and keeps me thinking.
Aquatic Elements
There’s always a new angle or perspective to discover.
Got wisdom to pour?
Hi! I am looking for an ocean picture as the start of something I am working on for a podcast I am creating. Am I able to purchase the use of one of your photos? I am a young adult and teacher. I would still give you the credit for the photo.
