15 Food Names You’re Probably Mispronouncing
Typos are somewhat easy to catch, especially if they’re embarrassing. Pronunciation is harder to nail down, so here’s the correct way to pronounce the names of 15 foods. Potatoes and tomatoes are the most usual topics of discussion, but what about almonds or jalapenos? I’m pretty sure I pronounced those correctly. But “cocoa”? That’s a pronunciation sin that all of us carry.

Diversity is our strength, the fact that so many different ways of saying words exist is a good thing, I am not sure we should really label any of them right or wrong, as long as we understand does it matter if I say tomato and you say tomato?
You do know you misspelled jalapeÑos, right?
The bruschetta one makes me so happy! Italian isn’t Germanic, so its “sch” sound is pronounced “sk” instead of a Germanic-sounding “sh”

Buffet is actually pronounced bi-fe (not i as y but as we read e in the alphabet, pardon my English,it’s not my first language)
Cocoa is a “sin all of us carry”??? I don’t know anybody who doesn’t say KO-KO. That is nuts.
And “Ah-nion”? I believe it’s “Uh-nyon”. Some of these are silly. Who says “pass-tah”? Who are you talking to?
It is actually “H”erb and not “erb. As per the British.
