What do you consider a good tattoo? For me, it’s not the one that screams big ideas and not even the one that’s the most beautiful. Instead, I’d choose a design that’s personal and has a special meaning to me first.

A South Korean tattoo artist who goes by the name of Playground Tattoo has been making just that – minimal tattoos with big ideas behind them. His tiny designs interpret the skin as a canvas, giving a beginning to the story and letting the imagination finish it. Being consistent with his work, the artist gives only a very minimal comment about his work: “thin line, small, simple.“

Being so unintrusive, these designs can also be a perfect idea for those who are still on the fence about getting a tattoo in the first place.
