Japanese Artist Creates One Playful Diorama Each Day For 4 Years
Every week, we see more and more diorama artists use everyday objects and food to create mini worlds with mini people going on adventures. Tanaka Tatsuya, from Japan, is one such diorama artist – he has challenged his imagination every day for the past 4 years by creating surprising miniatures with his own signature style. His “Miniature Calendar” project lets you view all of his daily creative projects in one place.
“Everyone must have had similar thoughts at least once,” writes Tatsuya on his artist’s statement. “Broccoli and parsley might sometimes look like a forest, or the tree leaves floating on the surface of the water might sometimes look like little boats. Everyday occurrences seen from a pygmy’s perspective can bring us lots of fun thoughts. I wanted to take this way of thinking and express it through photographs, so I started to put together a ‘Miniature Calendar’.“
