Mind Journal — The Modern Day Man Journal
Introducing a new kind of journal, just for guys.
My name is Ollie and I’m on a mission to bring back the legacy of guys keeping a journal. This important task has been forgotten over the years and now is a more crucial time than ever for guys to get writing again.
Years ago the idea of a guy sitting a jotting down his thoughts in a book, was common place. Over the years this has been sadly lost. Guys no longer pour their highs and lows down on paper. And with it has come an epidemic failure to provide men with the necessary tools to cope with modern day stresses. Locking up your thoughts is never a good idea. And talking about your stuff is tough. So I’ve created a unique journal that uses a straightforward framework to help guys manage the modern situations they face.
I myself have had dramatic situations in my life. I lost my mum to suicide when I was 19, and suffered a mental breakdown some years later from an array of issues in my childhood. The advice I was given while in therapy was to write in a journal. I struggled to convey my true emotions and thoughts verbally to another person, I didn’t want to be perceived as weak or have them judge my family. With a journal I could be completely honest and unafraid of any repercussions. However it was bloody tough. Staring at a blank piece of paper, much like this press release, and finding the words to put down is extremely di cult. It takes a lot of patience and a fair amount of confidence to not feel like an idiot doing it.
So after 10 years of keeping a journal I want to not only share what I’ve been through and learnt along the way, but create a new kind of journal that actively helps other guys to discover the bene ts of writing.
