This Swiss Company Will Turn Your Loved One’s Cremated Remains Into A Diamond
An innovative Swiss company called Algordanza created a unique way for us to remember and honor those who have passed. They use cremated human remains to create a diamond that will last forever.
Although it may seem crazy and a bit odd at first, it’s not impossible. The human body is 18% carbon, which is what diamonds are made of. Algordanza uses the 2% of that carbon that remains after cremation and compresses it into tiny little diamonds. The prices at Algordanza start at $4,474 USD. Their claim is that these memorial diamonds are almost indistinguishable from real diamonds, whether in quality or in appearance.

Got wisdom to pour?
I tried hitting my diamond with a hammer – no, it did not get destroyed…
– It still looks the same like it did 15 years ago.
I’d be more likely to have this done with a pet’s ashes do they do that?
from 4474 USD? you sure you wanna do that?
Forever is a long time. Contrary to De Beers 50+ year advertising campaign, diamonds are very easily destroyed with a hammer or reduced to charcoal with a blowtorch.
Diamonds are one of the hardest materials in the world ._.
Hard, yes. Quite hard to scratch.
Despite being very hard, diamonds are also fairly brittle and can be shattered with a hammer. No diamond is a perfect single crystal. The brittleness arises from imperfections, impurities and interfaces between different internal crystals.
If you lose the ring, do you file a missing persons report? If it’s stolen is it a kidnapping? Just saying.
Do you file a missing person report or call it kidnapping if someone steal a corpse?
I believe it is a crime to steal a corpse though….right?
It’s a crime to steal anything.
MY POINT! It was a hypothetical question, not a REAL one.
Hahaaa!
