Frozen Ice Sheets On The Lake Break Like Panes Of Glass

Published 9 years ago

Ice, ice, baby! See those magnificent ice sheets crash like panes of glass! These images were recorded at Lake Superior in Duluth, Minnesota. The sheets of ice crowd, break, overwhelm each other and grow into bigger and bigger piles of glass-like detritus. It also reminds me of shards of candy!

The video was shot by Dawn LaPointe of Radiant Spirit Photography. If you want to be amazed by large bodies of water, check out this post about a photographer who works inside crashing waves. Or see this post about magnificent waves of Lake Erie. Finally, here are some waves from a 19th-century Russian painter.
