Kids’ Invention Drawings Turned Into Usable Products
Dominic Wilcox decided that creativity of children should be harnessed, which is what he did with the “Inventors!” project. He invited 450 children across Sunderland and South Tyneside, UK, to send in their invention ideas. Wilcox then selected 60 out of the 600 submissions and tasked local makers to come up with physical prototypes.
“Instead of just putting the drawings on the fridge door as most adults do with a child’s drawings, why not push the ideas as far as they can go?” states the project’s website. “Taking the power of children’s imaginations seriously and see where it leads to.”
