It’s quite important to have a great wedding photographer at one’s wedding. After all, these images will commemorate one of the most special days of people’s lives. Since 2017,  the wedding photography arena has moved a step upward with a celebratory award ceremony that showcases the hard work of incredible Wedding Photographers worldwide.

This is the 8th annual observation of The International Wedding Photographer of the Year Awards and it strives to set the highest benchmark for wedding photography competitions. Open to all professional and amateur photographers interested, the awards promote the art of wedding photography while saluting diversity across the globe.

The awards are a chance for entrants to win cash and prizes in excess of US$20,000 and receive worldwide recognition. This year’s competition received over 2,000 entries from 450 photographers based in 63 countries globally.

Shanilou has always loved reading and learning about the world we live in. While she enjoys fictional books and stories just as much, since childhood she was especially fascinated by encyclopaedias and strangely enough, self-help books. As a kid, she spent most of her time consuming as much knowledge as she could get her hands on and could always be found at the library. Now, she still enjoys finding out about all the amazing things that surround us in our day-to-day lives and is blessed to be able to write about them to share with the whole world as a profession.
