Photographer, Blind In One Eye, Documents The Dark World He Sees
Walter Rothwell had his left eye sliced open by a piece of ice when he was little. Now, he’s completely lost sight in that eye. Rothwell had learned to work around the complexities of life that a faulty left eye presented, like a doubled imagine. However, his retina detached, and rather than risk a procedure that had one in six hundred chance of damaging the right eye, he sacrificed the left one.
Rothwell is a London based freelance photographer. He has spent a lot of time photographing the people of India and Egypt… as well as the cats of Cairo. Despite his recent eyesight setback, he’s still convinced that thr photographer’s greatest tool is his brain, not eyes. We the survivors of s social media singularity can say that he’s absolutely right: not many of those enjoying the capacity of sight are gifted photographers.
