Hairstylist Shows How Much A Hair Transformation Can Change A Person (33 Pics)
Getting a new hairstyle or changing the color is always a unique experience. And to show just how much a new haircut can change a person, Lithuanian hairstylist and the founder of hair salon SelfStation, Jurgita Malakauskaitė shares amazing before and after pics of her clients that might inspire you to try a different look yourself.
In an interview with Bored Panda, Jurgita said that she started cutting hair when she was just 16, starting out in a small hairdresser’s opened by her parents in her hometown of Mažeikiai. Eventually, the woman got her first real job as a hairdresser and currently has over 24 years of experience under her belt.
When styling hair, Jurgita doesn’t just look a the client’s hair – she also takes into account the their eye and skin color to pick out a hairstyle that suits them best. She then categorizes her clients into 4 types – Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn – depending on their hair color and complexity. “It’s like creating a painting. You first analyze what colors you’ll ‘paint’ with,” said the hairstylist. “And only after you have all of your colors ready, after you know your client’s type and look at the shape of their face and hair texture, only then do you start ‘painting’.”

Jurgita believes that every person has a type and it’s important to figure out what works best for them. “I think that every single hairdresser has to understand these things,” said the woman. She also added that creating the hairstyles to bring out each client’s potential makes her feel like an architect.

“Hair is energy. For some people, you have to tame their hair. For others, you have to convince them that they look beautiful and that their hair will be healthier next time,” said Jurgita. “You help them understand that they have to love and take care of themselves, that hair isn’t separate from their bodies.”
