What If Guys Acted Like Basic Instagram Girls?
‘Bros Being Basic’ is a hilarious Instagram page where guys are poking fun at the all of the activities ‘basic’ girls enjoy. And what started as a blog post back in 2014, eventually grew into an Instagram page that has over 868k followers.
The mastermind behind the page, Ashley Hesseltine, says the reaction to the page has been nothing but possible. “It almost feels more like paying homage to women instead of mocking them,” says the comedian. She believes that as a female and a feminist she is able to create content that is both not offensive to women and let’s them laugh at themselves and their ‘basic’ tendencies.
Ashley believes that tastefully done parodies are always funny and relatable to both sexes: “And at the end of the day, a lot of the content isn’t even guys mocking girls — it’s them being themselves. Guys can be JUST as basic and thirsty as girls on Insta!”
