Celebrating 70 Years Of Marriage: Grandma Poses In Her Wedding Gown With Her Husband For A Photoshoot By Her Granddaughter
In the age of hook-up culture and alarming rates of divorces, it’s difficult to believe that the “ever after” type of love exists in reality. However, it’s really nice to see that some couples actually spend most of their lifetime together– it gives hope to many people. Although it’s rare now, fairytale love stories surely do exist!
Anna Behning is a wedding photographer who loves to capture “love”. In an interview with DeMilked, Anna said, “I’m energized by people that are madly in love with each other. I remember photographing my first wedding in December of 2018 and just being so excited about capturing the couple’s love for each other! From that day forward I knew wedding photography would always be a part of my story”.
Recently, Anna decided to do a photoshoot with her grandparents who were celebrating their 70th anniversary on January 6, 2022. She captured some stunning pictures showing the heartwarming “love” of this beautiful couple who stayed together through thick and thin and are still enjoying each other’s company after all this time.

Anna also revealed, “Although all 70 years weren’t picture perfect, Grandma & Grandpa couldn’t live without each other. Grandpa is a bit stubborn and likes to tease, but is really a teddy bear at heart and has a soft spot for his kids and grandkids. Grandma is a social butterfly and loves to have her family over as much as possible.”

Sharing more about her grandparent’s love story, the photographer said, “In the early years of their marriage, their only form of communication was through letters in the mail as Grandpa was serving in the Korean war. After returning from war, they started a family and had 5 children.”

When we asked her what inspired this idea of recreating their marriage moments, Anna said that it wasn’t premeditated at all. “I had brought my camera with me during a visit to my grandparent’s home when I asked grandma if she still had her wedding dress. Grandpa then went searching through their tubs in the garage to dig out the dress. I asked Grandma if she would model it for us and to my surprise she agreed! Then my mom brought out grandpa’s army uniform and we snapped some photos in their backyard!”, she added.

Anna also expressed how they all felt about this photoshoot– “Oh man, it was such a happy day! They were so cute all dressed up! I think grandma especially loved the photos, grandpa wasn’t as thrilled to smile for the camera! However, they are priceless memories that our family will cherish forever!”
