Many fans were excited about the release of a new Godzilla movie, titled Godzilla: King of the Monsters, – however, it earned significantly less at the domestic box office, compared to the 2014’s release. Even though the movie cast actresses like Vera Farmiga and Millie Bobby Brown, fans criticized the movie for using “filler shots” and having short action scenes. However, one more thing that caught the eyes of fans was the movie’s poster.

Comic artist Ernest Ng noticed something funny about the poster – how is Godzilla able to stand in an ocean that’s over 12.000 feet deep? “This problem was pointed out by my friend Dan Khoo so I tried to figure [it out],” wrote the artist. “Maybe the real problem is that I think too much.” Ernest then created a series of illustrations explaining the problem.

Even though the new movie has only 40% on Rotten Tomatoes‘ “Tomatometer”, it still beats the 1998 movie that has only a mere 16%.

Love it or hate it, looks like the Godzilla franchise is here to stay. After all, it’s not like there are other 400ft tall fire spitting lizards to take its place!
