HBO Responds To Leaving The Coffee Cup In The Game Of Thrones Episode, Says It Wasn’t Starbucks
The new season of Game of Thrones just keeps surprising us: first, it was the pitch dark ‘Battle at Winterfell’ episode that the fans had to brighten themselves, then came the hilarious Starbucks cup blooper, that some fans found simply hilarious. However, not all fans are enjoying the latest season of the show – some say it’s the weakest season of Game of Thrones so far, blaming poor writing and obvious mistakes like the leftover coffee cup. The search term “Game of Thrones Season 8 Sucks” even started trending on Google and we sincerely hope that the few remaining episodes will make up for the lackluster start.

“Things can get forgotten on set,” said Hauke Richter, the art director of Game of Thrones in an interview with Variety. He also said that the whole coffee cup ordeal was blown out of proportion because it has never happened in the show so far.
In an interview with WYNC, Bernadette Caulfield, the executive producer of the show said she couldn’t believe it. “Our on-set prop people and decorators are so on it one thousand percent. I just honestly can’t, I’m like, is that really? Because nowadays you can’t believe what you see because people can put things into a photo that really doesn’t exist.” said Caulfield. “But I guess maybe it was there, I’m not sure. But, yeah. We’re sorry!”
