Unique Wooden Tables Embedded With Glass Rivers and Lakes By Furniture Maker Greg Klassen
Greg Klassen is an artist who creates beautiful wooden tables with glass rivers and lakes embedded into their surfaces. Each unique piece is hand-made out of discarded trees, even ones that have already started to rot.
“My inspiration comes from the beautiful Pacific Northwest and the trees that grow here,” writes Klassen. “No two trees are the same just as no two pieces are that I make from them.”
The Washington-based furniture maker uses traditional hand tools as well as modern machines to create these original pieces of art. “I try to marry the natural beauty of the wood with the skilled craftsmanship of the maker,” explains Klassen, who has a degree in theology. “When the two come together, a piece can really sing!”
Klassen works in his personal studio just behind his home, keeping him close to his most important inspiration of all – his family.

This piece is truly stunning!
Taking inspiration is the way to go, you can never run out of ideas when it comes to nature, and this is a good example of innovative design ideas inspired by nature itself. The combination of man made and natural materials makes this piece even more spectacular.Amazing job!
This is beautiful. I would love to do work like this when I retire. Absolutely gorgeous.
