8 Million Flower Petals Cover An Entire Village In Costa Rica

Published 11 years ago

One village in Costa Rica was covered in 8 million flower petals for Sony’s newest 4K Ultra HD TV set advertisement campaign. The dreamlike and highly ambitious idea was brought to life thanks to global advertising agency McCann, photographer Nick Meek and a British special effects team.

The creative crew and the inhabitants of the entire village took more than two weeks to collect the brightest and most vibrant flower petals there were around. In total, they weighed about 3,5 tons. Then, the special effects team created undulating waves of petals, volcanic eruptions, and a vibrant rush of color that engulfed the village below. Why 8 million petals? Because that’s the exact number of pixels on Sony’s new TV screen.
