27-Year-Old Will Be The First Woman To Visit Every Country In The World

Cassandra De Pecol is a 27-year-old traveler from Connecticut who started traveling around the world in July 2015. Her goal is to visit all sovereign countries along her way and so far she has crossed 181 borders. That means Cassandra has 40 days to visit 15 remaining countries and, if successful, De Pecol will become the first documented female, youngest American, and the fastest traveler EVER to visit all 196 countries around the globe.

Her one-of-a-kind journey is called Expedition196

She started off in Palau in July 2015

So far she has visited 181 countries

And she’s hoping to become the first documented woman to travel to all 196

Cassandra has to visit the remaining 15 countries in the next 40 days

If she’s successful, she’ll also break the Guinness World Record for the fastest person to travel to all sovereign states

Cassandra’s traveling as an Ambassador for Peace on behalf of the International Institute for Peace Through Tourism

So far, the expenses are around $200,000 but the costs are covered by sponsors

The traveler also uses Instagram as a platform for advertising in exchange for free accommodation

She’s only 27 but she’s already seen more than most people get to see in a lifetime

Including meeting lion cubs

And relaxing on the beach in Kiribati
