Ellen Giovine, is a woman with a fascinating story. Born and raised in Italy by her American mother, Ellen developed a deep affection for American junk food when she moved to the U.S. Her trips back home resulted in some extra pounds, courtesy of her newfound love for indulgent treats. At the age of thirteen, Ellen found herself in a closet surrounded by two dozen donuts, and several decades later, she decided to share her experiences through a comic.

The protagonist of her creation is Franci, a food lover aspiring to be slim. Franci is willing to go to great lengths for a good meal and tries various methods to shed those unwanted pounds. Alongside her on this journey is Francis, her loyal pig companion, offering unwavering support during her challenging days and reminding her of her beauty. Despite his encouragement, Ellen’s character is quick to tell him to “zip it.” Join Ellen on this humorous adventure as she navigates the complexities of food, weight, and self-acceptance.
