Artist Reveals Her Extremely Gorgeous Sketchbook
No notebook is safe from abstract doodling. Yet we all could learn a thing or two from these sketches by Sophie Roach. Her style is based on spontaneity and rhythm, filling the page with dense, colorful lines and shapes. It’s a playful style that also has a slight austere feeling to it.
Sophie Roach is a Texas-based illustrator and graphic designer. In her own words, she discovered her sketching nature “when she was supposed to be paying attention to lectures at the University of Washington”. Her doodles can be seen on t-shirts, bandannas and stickers.
She has also done a mural and one her images had made its way onto a double-decker bus. It’s likely the biggest the legal doodle ever done.
