9 Disney Princesses Reimagined As Beautiful Indian Brides
Disney-inspired aesthetics are becoming more and more popular in Western weddings but because of the cultural gap, Disney themes are rarely considered an option for Indian weddings. These 9 gorgeous bridal gowns, however, were created to prove that Disney princesses can be assimilated into Indian culture and inspire their ornate bridal wear as well.
Originally, the concept for the photoshoot was suggested by Universal Décor to WellGroomed Designs, a British Columbia-based bridal store. Vancouver-based wedding photographer Amrit Grewal joined the team to photograph 9 beautiful models. The high-budget photoshoot included detailed sets, and some of the dresses cost more than $10,000, with accompanying jewelry as well.
In the Pocahontas- and Mulan-inspired Indian bridal looks, designers worked on how to make a beautiful combination of the two overlapping cultures that would be culturally ethical and respectful.
Decide whether the Disney princesses’ transition from the West to India was successful for yourself!
