Artist Recreates His Dreams And Nightmares In Chilling Illustrations
Tokyo-based digital artist Ryohei Hase opens the door to his surreal nightmarish world by sharing his breathtaking illustrations with us. He creates aesthetically grotesque artwork by mediating between our darkest dreams and beauty.
The animals in his work represent either the people he loves or those he is scared of. “Sometimes dreams and nightmares inspire my work. I really enjoy looking back at dreams, especially when I had really fantastic ones as they could come from feelings deep in my mind,” says Hase.
His amazing illustrations are painted freehand in Adobe Photoshop. No wonder he received Asia Digital Art Award for excellence twice – in 2003 and in 2006.
