These Dark And Absurd Comics That Will Have You Laughing And Crying
Whether it’s music, writing or drawing short comic strips, art can be one of the best ways to express your emotions. Artist Martin Rosner went for the last named option and started his Hot Paper comic series.
Rosner’s style is raw and the topics are a little bizarre. The comics often have blunt, unexpected endings, and the surprise is part of the punchline that leaves you guessing whether it’s too inappropriate to laugh or not.
Maybe one of the reasons why the comics are that way is because the drive to create them comes from a fairly dark place – the artist is suffering from depression. “Making these comics to me is like being able to say to my depression, ‘even with you in the way I am still able to make something,’“ revealed Rosner, who wishes to improve on his art and one day to make a living off his comics, continue writing and maybe even organize a few stand-up shows.
Scroll down to read his creations (fair warning: they are pretty dark), check out the artist’s social media pages, and if you’re eager for more, take a look at our latest post about twisted comics here.
