Gerhard Haderer is an Austrian caricaturist whose work illustrates our society’s deepest flaws. It’s impossible not to be moved by his illustrations, which explore the inherent flaws in the human being, as we can all relate!
Haderer’s had even faced the court for one his books called ‘The Life of Jesus’ which has triggered violent reactions in the country, especially from the Catholic community. A few months later, after being sentenced six-month suspension, he did manage to change the verdict.
Before his career as a freelance caricaturist and satirical illustrator, Gerhard Haderer has worked as a graphic designer and illustrator for advertising agencies. His career did take a huge turn when he got ill with cancer and after his surgery in 1985 he decided to leave his commercial dreams behind and start working as a caricaturist.
