This Book-Loving Guy Turns His Collection Of Books Into Art And Already Gathered Over 120k Instagram Followers
24-year-old James Trevino is a self-proclaimed ‘bookstagrammer’ whose creative uses for books went viral recently. The artist creates elaborate scenes by arranging books in various patterns often referencing pop culture, like Game of Thrones and Harry Potter and has already gathered over 120k followers on Instagram.
“At first I was posting pictures of my then current reads. With time, the photos got more and more complex, influenced mostly by pop culture and sometimes by certain pictures I saw on Instagram,” told James to Bored Panda. The artist also explained the creative process of the pictures: “First, there is the brainstorming I do with my good friend Elizabeth. Then, once we have a general idea, me and Liz try to bring it as close as possible to our vision. If the concept proves to be too large to capture in a single frame, we combine two or more photos in post editing.”
Although James currently has over a thousand books in his collection and says he has no plans to stop, the two of his favorite books are ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’ by J.K. Rowling and ‘The Silmarillion’ by JRR Tolkien. The artist says for now his creations are just a hobby but the positive feedback he received is a bit overwhelming but also heartwarming.
