Photographer Takes Pictures Of Dancers In Their Own Homes
What do dancers do back home? Nobody knows, but David Perkins gives us a good idea with his “Home Stage” photo series. He took pictures of dancers in the environment of their own homes. Granted, dancers will be dancers, so we can see them stretch and arch all over their everyday surroundings. After all, they’re people like us, just extremely flexible.
David Perkins is a photographer who has been photographing dancers for a decade now. The expenses as well as the effort required for studio photography eventually got to Perkins. He wanted to do something new and fun.
“Everything had been done before,” Perkins wrote on Bored Panda “But then I realized, that was a lie. Dancers, are almost always seen performing. They are seen on stage, or on the screen, or even out around New York City among the many landmarks. What you never see are dancers at home, just being themselves. So that is what I began to focus on.”
