Ukrainian Ballet Dancer Nails Hozier’s ‘Take Me To Church’

Published 10 years ago

Love Hozier’s ‘Take Me to Church’? Even if you don’t you will now; ballet dancer Sergei Polunin pulled out all the stops when dancing to Hozier’s hit. The result is spectacular: his dynamic, startling lunges, jarring stops, and mastery of body language all work well to translate the pain in the song.

Sergei, the Ukrainian Ballet bad boy (apparently, they exist) cooperated with noted camera wiz David LaChapelle, and the choreography was written by Jade Hale-Christofi. I think the end result is tad better than Shia LeBeuf’s music video debut.
