Speaking on her art, Sung claimed, “I find that Plein-Air painting has inspired me to pursue this art form the most (plein-air is the act of painting outdoors).” Further iterating that, ” Working from life always has endless inspiration! When I am outdoors, the limitations help me focus on being efficient with my artwork. It is what has helped me grow the most as an artist.”

Elaborating on what inspired her to choose this particular art form, Sung added, “Traveling helps my creative process a ton! Whenever I experience a particular moment, it pushes me to create paintings based on the feelings/senses I felt during that time. The skill of painting can improve over time, but these moments are always fleeting! It’s hard to always stay authentic to what you experience since it passes so quickly. Let alone trying to capture how you felt! That is something that I really try to focus on when I am creating art – something that feels real and relatable”.

Shanilou Perera

Shanilou has always loved reading and learning about the world we live in. While she enjoys fictional books and stories just as much, since childhood she was especially fascinated by encyclopaedias and strangely enough, self-help books. As a kid, she spent most of her time consuming as much knowledge as she could get her hands on and could always be found at the library. Now, she still enjoys finding out about all the amazing things that surround us in our day-to-day lives and is blessed to be able to write about them to share with the whole world as a profession.

Got wisdom to pour?
