10 Disney Characters Given Realistic Makeovers Using The Power Of Artificial Intelligence
I don’t know how the animators at Disney do it, but they’re very good at creating iconic characters that stay in our memories for years to come. One of the things that makes them especially memorable is their unique and even a little exaggerated appearance – small waists, big heads and eyes, funky hairstyles and all that. Recently, however, an artist going by the nickname of Toyboyfan decided to remove these features from the characters and reimagine them as humans in a project he calls In real life.
In a recent interview with Bored Panda, the artist said he uses artificial intelligence (A.I.) to merge together photos of Disney characters and photos of a real life person that looks similar to the characters. “Afterward, the result can look a little funny, so I take the resulting photo and combine it with another photo and so on until I get a somewhat realistic photo that kinda looks like the character,” revealed the artist. “Then I will take the photo to Photoshop and start making tweaks here and there to make it look even more like the character, like changing the eye color or refining the face.”

Toyboyfan says he came up with the idea after creating a real-life portrait of Kristoff from Disney’s Frozen to practice his skills. He posted the picture to his Tumblr and people started asking him to do more Frozen characters. “Once I did the others and posted that, I started seeing the photos being reposted all over the internet, many people being amazed by them. I then noticed that they were wondering if there would be other Disney Princesses, so I decided to start creating them as well,” said the artist.

“My favorite part about creating art is getting to see the final result after all the time and hard work I put into it,” revealed the artist. “My least favorite part is how long it can take to create a work sometimes.”
