Tweeter Shares Color Palettes From Famous Movies

Published 6 years ago

Colors were the second biggest breakthrough in cinema after the implementation of sound, and almost immediately it became an integral part of the movie experience. As you’ll see below, famous directors rely heavily on specific color palettes in their works. Sometimes it’s to create a certain mood, sometimes to highlight the characters and their actions. Whatever it is, if they get it right the audience will be treated to a wonderful spectacle.

Twitter user Cinema Palettes has built a significant collection of over 200 color palettes extracted from popular movies. He broke down the iconic Stanley Kubrick’s Shining, Alejandro Iñárritu’s Revenant, Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away, George Miller’s Mad Max and many more, all of which can be found on @cinemapalettes Twitter page.
