Guy Photographs Small Toys With Big Imagination
Since childhood, we’ve always dreamed of traveling to the worlds where our toys come from. Now photographer and digital artist Felix Hernandez Rodriguez is bringing these worlds to you.
“For me photography is not portraying what exists, but portraying what exist in me,” author said to PetaPixel. Besides his commercial work he has been creating these amazing miniature scenes, that with the help of his camera, trusty ol’ Photoshop and a technique called focus stacking (multiple photos merged to achieve a wider focus), are transformed into dream worlds, where toy figures come to life.
“Scale is one of the most important aspects of my photography,” says Felix. In order for them to look life-like, he needs to get really close to his subjects, so every little detail counts: “What’s really cool is doing as much as you can in-camera. For snow scenes, I use wheat flour. For desert scenes, I use corn flour. For atmosphere, I add smoke. For rain, I spray water. For droplets, I add corn syrup.“
It’s always nice to see somebody following their dreams, so take a look at the pictures below to see for yourself just what those dreams actually look like.
