Magnificent Restaurant Built Into A Cave In A Cliff On The Italian Coast
All I want is to be rich enough to eat my lunch and dinner in a hotel restaurant located in a spectacular cave overlooking the Adriatic sea. That’s why Grotta Palazzese hotel restaurant is so cool. It’s located in the town of Polignano a Mare in Southern Italy. The restaurant is set in vaulted limestone cave in the middle of a vertical seaside cliff typical for the town.
Polignano a Mare used to be a Greek colony in pre-Roman times. Now, it boasts an old town full of authentic houses, as well as a monastery of impressive size. The cave restaurant had been used as early as 1700s, where nobles used to gather to dine on… whatever 18th century Italians used to eat.
