Grace And Dance Frozen In Flour In Photos By Alexander Yakovlev
Some of us are singing in the rain, others – dancing in flour. Alexander Yakovlev keeps taking pictures of dancer swirling in the white stuff. Viewing ballerinas as some sort of auto-dough dumpling, Yakovlev immortalizes movement and grace as they are brought out by finely-ground grain.
Alexander Yakovlev is a Russian photographer out of Moscow. He’s formally educated as a lawyer, but prefers photographing dancers to being a book-bound snake. The flour photography is part of a series called “The Mirages.” He also takes pictures of athletes for magazines. You can see out previous post on Yakovlev’s work here.
