Amazing Pencil Sculptures by Jennifer Maestre
Meet Jennifer Maestre, a South African-born, Massachusetts-based artist, who makes the most beautiful and unusual sculptures we’ve ever seen.
My sculptures were originally inspired by the form and function of the sea urchin. To make the pencil sculptures, I take hundreds of pencils, cut them into 1-inch sections, drill a hole in each section (to turn them into beads), sharpen them all and sew them together. The beading technique I rely on most is peyote stitch.
Jennifer also makes pencil jewelry. You can find it here. Oh, and her website is jennifermaestre.com.
Got wisdom to pour?
These sculptures has this magical feeling – I cannot even describe it in words. No wonder, because the forms were inspired by the nature itself, and our god is the best creator of all!
Rose, i agree with you as far as to say that these sculptures are amazing, however you obviously were never educated which is evident within your writing and you should think before you post anything.
Rosecrusher, it is a good thing to have an excellent opinion about your dear precious self. As long as it does not turn into delirium. You are probably Einstein’s daughter, right? I feel humbled by your celestial intelligence. Wow, you are so smart!!! Whoa!!!!
I can only say WOW. Never seen anything like this before. I would actually buy one if I knew where to order it.
