Artist Turns Disney Princesses Into Pin-up Girls
Disney princesses have worn more guises than anyone. Andrew Tarusov imagines them as pin-up girls. Catering to a more adult fantasy than the movies, his illustrations are definitely meant for people who are children only at heart. Pin-ups predate Disney, and have a long history of controversy. Were they empowering women to enjoy their beauty after a prudish Victorian age, or hurting their self image, virtue and the society’s morals?
Andrew Tarusov is an experienced artist, having worked with Cosmopolitan, Maxim and Rolling Stone. Originally from Russia, he now lives and works in Los Angeleas, California. He professes love of vintage pin-ups and comics, though that didn’t stop him from project like imagining how cartoon characters would look when they got old.

I get its “supposed to be funny and wacky” but it’s not.
The artist is talented but used in the wrong way, the writer is great and all.
But it’s just gross that both the artist and writer purposefully chose to sexually draw children’s characters,
especially those for young girls,
Clean up your act and grow some actual self control.
…The artist wasn’t drawing this as a “role model for young girls”. The artist was trying to have fun. I’m sure you’ve seen the posts of the disney princesses turned into horror versions, would you say that’s the same thing? I was actually very glad to have found this because as a pop-culture artist I am often trying to find new ideas, such as Ariel with her mouth sewn shut (don’t ask). I think you need to see art for art as it’s intended instead of dwelling on shit that shoudn’t matter. Let it go, Shruthi, let it go. It’s just some pictures.
