Dry Dog Wet Dog: Photographer Takes Portraits Of Pooches Before And After Bath Time
Wet dogs usually spell a wet disaster, especially when they shake themselves dry. Yet this didn’t deter Serenah Hodson from making the ‘Dry Dog Wet Dog’ portrait series! The name is self-explanatory: it’s a collection of before and after dog photos. On the left, you have a dry and groomed pup, and on the right – one straight out of the bath. Look at these cute different-yet-strangely similar doggies!
Of course, Serenah has a good reason to risk camera and wall photographing wet dogs: “Dry Dog Wet Dog came about with washing my own dogs. Their personalities change when they know it’s bath time. So I decided to create a series of the different looks and not only personalities but the difference in look from groomed to wet. We get such great texture on the dog when the hair is wet. Some dogs look completely different when wet and this was the joy I wanted to capture.” She sure seems to have made her profession from joy! Hodson has won awards and fans for her intuitively whimsy pet photography. And the photos featuring her dogs Rocco, Ralph and Simon have fans around the world.
Not to worry, though: she has been known to photograph cats on occasion.
